Built to be validated.

Every mytochi instrument follows the same path from theory to norms, and every measurement contributes to it. This page explains the path, what the status badges mean, and what happens with the data.

Measure properly, keep the data clean and yours, and let the catalogue and the population compound.

// Foundations

Theory first.

Relationship with Yourself

Self-worth, boundaries, disclosure

Self-esteem follows the contingencies of self-worth framework (Crocker and Wolfe): what matters is not only how high self-worth is, but how much it depends on events in a given area. Boundary coordination follows Communication Privacy Management theory (Petronio): ownership, permeability and linkage of private information. Self-disclosure is measured as breadth, depth and valence, without a total score.

COMPASS

Readiness for change

Items sit on four model levels: structural and evaluative resources, psychological state, and outcomes. Constructs come from the job demands and resources model, self-determination theory, perceived organizational support, organizational justice and psychological contract theory. Two composites, communication and trust, cut across the levels.

// Validation roadmap

From pilot to validated.

An instrument is "pilot" while the data needed for the steps below is being collected, and "validated" when the steps are complete and documented. Both instruments are currently in pilot.

Step 1Item qualityDistributions, floor and ceiling effects, item-total correlations, internal consistency per facet. Weak items are revised or dropped in a new version; old data keeps its version.
Step 2StructureFactor analysis of the measurement model: do the items group the way the theory says? Measurement invariance across gender, age and language.
Step 3NormsReference values by population and subgroup. Until they exist, readings compare a person's own areas and use the scale as reference. Organizations get benchmarks at the same point.
Step 4Over timeTest-retest stability from repeat measurements, and what predicts what: which patterns precede a change in energy, which readiness constellation precedes a successful change.
// Principles of interpretation
Period, not trait. Readings describe the past four weeks. A different four weeks can look different, and that is information, not error.
Ipsative. Your areas are compared with each other, not you with other people, until norms exist.
No diagnosis. Patterns and loads are evaluated, never the person. High contingency is weight carried, not a flaw.
Versioned. Every session records which version of the instrument it used, so a changed item never contaminates old data.
// Data

What happens with the data.

Individual assessments are anonymous by default: no name, no email, storage only after explicit consent. An account is pseudonymous; the demographic details it asks for are used only in anonymised statistics and never appear next to results. Organizations see aggregates of at least five people, never individuals. Everything is stored on servers in Switzerland, is not shared, and is not used for advertising. If an account is deleted, its results are irreversibly detached and kept anonymously for instrument quality.

The reason we say this openly: the value of the instruments grows with the population that uses them. Norms, benchmarks and the knowledge of what predicts what exist only because many people measured. That works only if no dataset can ever be traced to a person, and that is the commitment.

Reports.

The first validation report for Relationship with Yourself (version 1) will be published here once the pilot sample is complete. Methods and item-level statistics are documented internally from the first session onwards.
